This rice plate is a deep dish that is designed to hold a large serving of rice. The inner space is rounded and is contrasted with the squared edges of the outer rim. Rice can be stacked up high without much risk of spilling due to the wide, deep design. The hanging rim also means that the dish can be inset into a specially made housing quite easily.
